Create one reliable record for manuals and model numbers
Keep equipment, attachments and power components identifiable when buying parts or seeking support.
Updated:

Give each item its own entry
Start with the maker, exact model and any separate attachment identifier. STIHL's battery information describes named systems, so a record that merely says green battery or cordless tool is not enough to establish compatibility. Keep the tool, battery and charger details together while preserving their individual model references.
The cordless mower photograph illustrates a complete machine, but a photograph taken from a distance may not reveal the identifiers required for support. Record information directly from the product and official documentation where available. Do not infer an exact model from a similar housing or copy a serial number from someone else's online photograph.

Link to the right instructions
Save the official manual link and note the model or revision it covers. The RHS sharpening guide notes that not all secateurs can be dismantled, which is a practical reason to avoid treating a generic care article as a substitute for product instructions. Keep specialist advice clearly distinguished from the manufacturer's procedure.
The pictured secateurs show one arrangement of blades and pivot. They are useful visual context but do not establish the construction of your own pair. If an official manual cannot be found, record the missing information and contact an appropriate supplier rather than filling the space with an unverified download from an unrelated product.

Record consumables and attachments separately
STIHL's mowing-line information says that the diameter must suit the task and the head. Keep the head identifier and approved replacement reference together, and update them when an approved component changes. A record of the machine alone may leave out the very detail needed to buy the correct consumable.
The historical brushcutter photograph shows a metal-blade arrangement, deliberately different from a nylon-line head. It is not a recommended conversion or operating setup. Use this distinction to make the record more precise: do not place blade, head and line references in one undifferentiated accessories field that could imply they are interchangeable.

Check completeness with a simple count
For an assumed inventory of six items, suppose four have both a verified model reference and an official manual link. The complete-record share is four divided by six, or about 66.7%; two entries remain incomplete. This is an administrative measure, not a score for equipment safety or condition.
Add a separate column for unresolved compatibility questions, so a complete-looking row does not conceal an unanswered issue. An illustrative 5 minutes to check each of six entries gives a 30-minute review allowance. Those timings are assumptions, not a promise that missing documentation can always be found within the allocated period.
Keep private details out of public requests
Store purchase receipts and any identifying serial information where you can retrieve them for legitimate support. A public forum usually does not need a full receipt or personal address to discuss a general model question. Share only the information relevant to the support channel and retain the original record privately.
Review the file when equipment is sold, replaced or fitted with a different approved attachment. Mark old entries as retired so they are not used for a new purchase by mistake. The result should be a small, maintained reference that makes the next enquiry specific, rather than a large folder of documents whose connection to the current equipment is unclear.
